A High BMI and the Risk for Psoriasis

There has long been a correlation seen with high body mass index (BMI) and psoriatic disease, but until recently it was not known if high BMI increased the risk for psoriasis or if psoriatic disease led to weight gain and higher BMIs. Ronald B. Prussick, MD discusses recent research that shows BMI is leading risk factor for the development of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
